The start was delayed due to a technical issue with the starting stalls, and the horses which had been loaded had to be taken out and then reloaded, causing a delay. The start of this race was delayed due to a technical issue with the starting stalls. In view of the performance from THE WEST IS WIDE, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the gelding and submit a report. ASHTON PARK, which raced in restricted galloping room on the outside running rail, brushed the hindquarters of COPPER PARADE, which shifted out slightly and was turned outwards. This resulted in ASHTON PARK becoming severely cramped for galloping room for a number of strides, was checked losing position leaving the 200m. FLY BY NIGHT was baulked for a clear run until the 200m and was switched inwards to continue her run. CAPTAIN OF ALL and COPPER PARADE were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. COPPER PARADE raced without a tongue tie. DE KOCK - is a gelding. Vet: THE WEST IS WIDE - was inspected post race and no significant findings were detected. Scratched: FUTURA - coughing. SILICONE VALLEY - lame right fore. TRIP TO HEAVEN - travel permit refused.
