CAPRIVI STRIP and FREMONT STREET were slow into stride. BLAZE THE TRAIL and CRIME VICTIM lost 1 length. QATAR SPRINGS was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. DISCOURSE was pulling hard in the early stages, difficult to restrain. CAPRIVI STRIP eased off the heels of MISS TEE at approximately the 1000 metre mark. WHALE WATCHING, hanging in, shifted in brushing and carrying QATAR SPRINGS inwards at approximately the 300 metre mark. MODERN ROYAL steadied off the heels of QATAR SPRINGS at approximately the 250 metre mark. QATAR SPRINGS, hanging out, shifted out slightly brushing CRIME VICTIM at approximately the 150 metre mark. Race reviews were called by a Stipendiary Steward, the trainer and rider of CRIME VICTIM, which was followed by an Objection lodged by Jockey Randolph, rider of the second placed horse, CRIME VICTIM, against the winner, QATAR SPRINGS, on the grounds of interference over the final 300 metres. The Objection Board, after hearing the evidence and considering the distance of a neck between these two horses at the finish, was of the opinion that this did not affect the result of the race and therefore over-ruled the Objection, refunded the deposit and allowed the Judge's result to stand. Jockey David reported that he felt something amiss with DELAMERE in the latter stages. MISS TEE compounded over the final 600 metres. Vet: DELAMERE - nothing obvious detected. MISS TEE - nothing obvious detected. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed, as per normal procedure. Several Jockeys and Apprentices were selected for the taking of breathalyser tests and urine samples for analysis.
