BAMBINO and SAIL THE ICE lost 1 length. RAGING PRINCESS had to check approaching the 100m, when tightened for galloping room between CHINA BEACH, which was hanging out and shifted out away from the crop, and SEATTLE TRADE, which shifted in away from the crop and was immediately straightened. Jockey Strydom, the rider of RAGING PRINCESS, in the company of Trainer Botes, called for a race review into this incident and after viewing the patrol films of the race decided to take no further action. Jockey Zechner signed an Admission of Guilt for a contravention in that he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to RAGING PRINCESS at the 100m whilst riding CHINA BEACH. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. In assessing this incident the Stewards ruled that whilst SEATTLE TRADE had played a role in this incident, CHINA BEACH had been the major contributing factor. Jockey Simons reported that MEXICAN GLORY (ARG) did not stride out freely in running. Apprentice Penny reported something amiss with BESAME MUCHO in running. CHINA BEACH was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: MEXICAN GLORY (ARG) - examined post race, no significant findings. BESAME MUCHO - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. Scratched: POSH IN PARIS - lame right front joint.
