TREBLE TOT lost one length. BEE MY HONEY stood, losing 6 lengths and thereafter was slow into stride. Trainer Roberts was advised to re-school this filly. FADE TO GREY was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Scott was questioned with regard to the improved performance of FADE TO GREY compared to this mare's previous run on the 19 December 2014 over 1600 metres. Mr Scott explained that, in his opinion, this mare is better suited to distances up to 1200 metres and he further undertook to race FADE TO GREY over these distances in the near future. The Board noted his explanation and the future performances of this mare will be monitored. Jockey Kennedy reported that he felt something amiss with COOL ANNE in running and as a result he did not persevere with his ride over the final 100 metres. Jockey Randolph reported that OI YOI YOI coughing at the pull-up. Apprentice Mohapi reported that RED ROSETTE was making an abnormal respiratory noise at the pull up. Jockey Mgudlwa, the rider of TREBLE TOT, reported that his saddle slipped backwards in running. OI YOI YOI returned post race having cast the left fore shoe. BEE MY HONEY was hanging out for the majority of the race. In view of this, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Jockey de Melo appeared before the Board with regard to his riding of BEE MY HONEY in the early and middle stages. He explained that this filly had not lost ground at the start of her races prior to today and given that she was hanging out, he was concerned with her well-being. However when he asked her for an effort from approximately the 300 metre mark, she did run on. This explanation was noted and Jockey de Melo was reminded of his responsibility to ensure that horses he rides are competitive in their races. Vet: COOL ANNE, OI YOI YOI, RED ROSETTE and BEE MY HONEY - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: KADEZE - coughing. SUTHERFENI - insufficient recovery time.
