This Race was run in light rain. TASO THE SAILOR was stubborn loading. Trainer Peter was advised to re-school this gelding prior to its next engagement. POWER JET was slow into stride. Jockey Brown reported that POWER JET did not stride out freely in the closing stages. T Jockey Lerena reported that PENITENT PIRATE did not stride out freely in the closing stages. Jockey Zechner reported that RODEO DANDY took no interest in running. In view of the performance from NOBLE VIRTUE, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. SUSSUDIO was hanging in from the 400m. BATTLE OF ALMA shifted both ways away from the crop in the closing stages. An inquiry will be opened into the riding of PENITENT PIRATE by Jockey Lerena in the concluding stages. BOLD APPROACH was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: POWER JET and RODEO DANDY - not striding out right front. PENITENT PIRATE - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. SUSSUDIO - abnormal respiratory noise. TASO THE SAILOR - speedy cut right front. NOBLE VIRTUE - not striding out both front. NEWS FLASH - coughing. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed, as per normal procedure.
