Jockey Mansour reported that he felt something amiss with VELOCITY VOSSIE in running. SIR CECIL was hanging in from the start to the 300m. Thereafter at the 200m SIR CECIL was carried out slightly by SPECIAL ANNOUNCE, which rolled out. Then just after passing the 150m to just before the 50m SIR CECIL was carried outwards by SPECIAL ANNOUNCE which shifted out away from the crop. SIR CECIL had to check just after the 50m, to avoid the heels of SPECIAL ANNOUNCE, which again shifted out. Jockey David, the rider of SIR CECIL, called for a race review and then lodged an objection on behalf of SIR CECIL, placed 3rd, against SPECIAL ANNOUNCE, placed second, on the grounds of interference in the closing stages. The Objection Board after giving regard to the evidence put forward during the objection and after reviewing the patrol films of the incident complained of, could not be comfortably satisfied that SIR CECIL would have finished ahead of SPECIAL ANNOUNCE had this incident not occurred and therefore overruled the objection and allowed the Judges result to stand. Jockey David's deposit was refunded. Jockey Sturgeon was charged with a contravention in that he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to SIR CECIL at the 100m whilst riding SPECIAL ANNOUNCE. Jockey Sturgeon signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of seven days. CHENNAI BABE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. VELOCITY VOSSIE raced with a tongue tie. STRICTLYCUMDANCIN raced equipped with alumite bar shoes in front and alumites behind. Vet: VELOCITY VOSSIE and SEA KNIGHT - Epistaxis, 90 day suspension. Scratched: WALLINGFORD - injured whilst loading. TIGER ON THE PROWL - abnormal temperature.
