TARA DAWN, ASCOT CHARM and PEARL OYSTER BAY were slow into stride. BEAUTIFUL JET and OVERLAP lost 1 length. FEELS LIKE HEAVEN was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. PEARL OYSTER BAY over-raced in the early stages. HUNGER GAMES raced wide on the bend. BEAUTIFUL JET was hanging out in the final straight. Jockey de Melo reported that he felt something amiss with RAMP DIVA in the latter stages and as a result he did not persevere with his ride. In view of the performance of PEARL OYSTER BAY, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Jockey Lembethe, the rider of MERITS CONCEDED, signed an Admission of Guilt for a contravention, read with the crop use Guidelines, in that he used his crop in an unnecessary manner by striking MERITS CONCEDED with excessive force in the closing stages. Vet: RAMP DIVA - not striding out behind. VICTORY TAKEOVER - speedy cut left hind. PEARL OYSTER BAY - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: SHIKRA - insufficient recovery time. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed, as per normal procedure.
