TEICHMAN (S Randolph) and BRIGADE (*T Gumede) lost one length, respectively. At the 400m, BHAKKA (C Zackey) shifted in to continue its run off the heels of KNIGHT WARRIOR (E Ngwane) which shifted out. Jockey A Marcus reported that ROY'S PHYSCO (AUS) (11.30 lengths, 5/1 in the betting) was blowing post race. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer A Wright will be requested to report back on the condition of this gelding on return to the stables. Jockey J Samuel reported that ROY'S MAGIC (AUS) (8.00 lengths, 11/2 in the betting) coughed post race. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Jockey E Ngwane signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he struck the horse KNIGHT WARRIOR more than 12 times in entire race. In deciding what action to take against Jockey E Ngwane the Board considered the number of times (17) Jockey E Ngwane struck the horse KNIGHT WARRIOR, the distance over which and manner in which, Jockey E Ngwane used his crop and his record (2) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of R1000 was imposed. SMART SOX (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D Kannemeyer advised (ML). FINAL ASSEMBLY raced with alumite bar shoe left fore, and alumites all round (advised 13.06.2020/08h00). BHAKKA was ridden by Jockey C Zackey. Reserve runner (advised 12.06.2020/09h57).
