AQUA BLUE reared up in the stalls, injuring itself. The Starting Stall Certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn until recertified tractable. LIMBO was hanging in from the 400m. PERFECT TRIP was hanging in, in the closing stages. LISNOBLE showed a tendency to hang in in the closing stages. GLOBAL POWER (AUS) showed a tendency to hang in from the 600m. Jockey Greyling appeared before the Board and was reprimanded regarding his failure to submit a report that this gelding was hanging in. Furthermore, Jockey Greyling was advised against the practice of using his crop on a horse which has been tested and has commenced to give ground. DISCO BOY was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. When questioned regarding the improved performance of DISCO BOY compared to its previous race on the 8th of January 2015 at the Vaal Racecourse sand track, Mr Lerena told the Stewards that this gelding had been drawn wide in its previous race, had raced wide around the bend and had been unable to close the race off strongly. He added that in his opinion the field today was of a weaker calibre. Mr Lerena was advised that whilst his explanation would be noted, DISCO BOY has shown a pattern of inconsistent performances over the last six months and if this gelding continues with this inconsistent form, the Stewards will give serious consideration into whether this gelding ought to be suspended. The future performances of this gelding will be monitored. Vet: WHERE'S MY CHOP - speedy cut right hind. CHEDWIN PARK and GLOBAL POWER (AUS) - abnormal respiratory noise. Scratched: AQUA BLUE - injured in pens and was subsequently withdrawn by the Veterinary Surgeon.
