The start of this Race was delayed due to PRAY FOR RAIN (A Mgudlwa) becoming fractious in the stalls, having to be unloaded, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and re-loaded. PRAY FOR RAIN (A Mgudlwa) was fractious and reared in the stalls. JOSEPH BARRY (A Marcus) was restless in the stalls. WALLS OF DUBROVNIK (E Ngwane) lost two lengths. WALLS OF DUBROVNIK (E Ngwane) shifted both ways away from the crop from the 300m. In view of the Starter's report with regard to PRAY FOR RAIN, this gelding's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 14.06.2020 the 20.06.2020. PRAY FOR RAIN may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer D Drier was advised. Jockey E Ngwane signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he struck the horse WALLS OF DUBROVNIK more than 12 times in entire race. In deciding what action to take against Jockey E Ngwane the Board considered the number of times (13) Jockey E Ngwane struck the horse WALLS OF DUBROVNIK, the distance over which and manner in which, Jockey E Ngwane used his crop and his record (3) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of R1000 was imposed.TEMPTING FATE (S Veale), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D Drier advised (ML). ATOMIC FORTY FIVE raced equipped with blinkers (advised 13.06.2020/06h28). TREAD SWIFTLY raced with a tongue tie (advised 12.06.2020/12h05). TEMPTING FATE : Cut into left hind.
