The start of this Race was rescheduled at the request of the Racing Operator due to a delay at Kenilworth racecourse. TELL MY STAR spread its right front shoe, which was attended to by the Course Farrier at the start. ICELANDIC FIRE and PERFECT WINTER lost 2 lengths. WOODROSE was bumped shortly after the start by LATINO ICE, which shifted inwards. Approaching the 1200m WOODROSE, TELL MY STAR, MISS TWEEDY and FLY PHILLIPPA suffered varying degrees of interference when positioned on the inside of LATINO ICE. SOFT SAND, which was following, had to take evasive action and switch outwards to avoid the heels of FLY PHILLIPPA, which led to AZANIAH, BESAME MUCHO and WENSLEYDALE being carried outwards. An inquiry will be held into this report. Jockey Maujean signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined for a contravention in that he failed to ride the horse ICELANDIC FIRE out to the end of the race, thereby prejudicing his chances of finishing in the 5th place. Jockey Naude reported that AZANIAH did not stride out freely in running. Apprentice Thackeray reported that he felt something amiss with BESAME MUCHO in running. FLY PHILLIPPA was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: AZANIAH - not striding out left front. WENSLEYDALE - cut into right hind. BESAME MUCHO - examined post race, no significant findings. LATINO ICE - cut into both hind. Scratched: BELLE STARR - pulled hindquarter muscle.
