TWICE GOLDEN (*T Gumede) and DARK MOON DOWN (S Veale) lost one length, respectively. OUR COYS (AUS) (T Godden) lost two lengths. SPECIAL BLEND (A Marcus) was hanging in from the 400m. At the 200m, JOSEPH JAGGER (K de Melo) had to ease when awkwardly placed on the inside of SHOGUN (C Zackey) which appeared to react to the sharp inward movement of SPECIAL BLEND (A Marcus) which was hanging in from the 400m, proving difficult to assist.At the 300m, DON'T LOOK BACK (*M Zuma) shifted in sharply when awkwardly placed on the heels of AFRICAN SUNRISE (D Dillon). Jockey S Moodley signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he struck the horse NEWS STREAM more than 12 times in entire race. In deciding what action to take against Jockey S Moodley the Board considered the number of times (19) Jockey S Moodley struck the horse NEWS STREAM, the distance over which and manner in which, Jockey S Moodley used his crop and his record (1) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of R1000 was imposed. Jockey Moodley was further advised that should he use his crop in a similar manner in future, a more severe sanction will be issued. SPECIAL BLEND (A Marcus), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D Howells advised (SC). CLOUDS OF WITNESS raced with alumites in front, unshod behind (advised 09.06.2020/15h50). DARK MOON DOWN was ridden by Jockey S Veale. Reserve runner (advised 13.06.2020/08h12). SPECIAL BLEND : The ownership should :- Messrs J Sarkis, G L Blank & G Piha - Mauve and pink checked diamonds, pink sleeves and cap (Sold with engagement - 12.06.2020).
