TAIWAN TREASURE was restless in the stalls. Assistant Trainer Azzie was advised to re-school this gelding prior to its next engagement. THE ROYAL RUMBA jumped inwards leaving the stalls and brushed TIME SIGNAL. PRINCE OF DARKNESS lost one length. THE ROYAL RUMBA, PRINCE OF DARKNESS and TAIWAN TREASURE had to steady, in a tightly bunched field, when tightened for galloping room at the 800m. As the Stewards could not apportion blame to any horse or rider, no further action was taken. Apprentice Storey reported that RAND CLUB did not stride out freely in running. Jockey Danielson reported that he felt something amiss with BLACK MACK in running and did not persevere with his riding from the 200m. Jockey Strydom, the rider of WHAT A BOYTJIE, appeared before the Board and was advised that whilst the Stewards appreciate race riding tactics, there is a fine line between riding tactics and intimidation tactics and if he oversteps the mark, he may be required to answer to a charge. AMSTERDAM was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: RAND CLUB - not striding out left front and coughing. BLACK MACK - not striding out right front. Scratched: WHITE TIGER - insufficient recovery time. PAY AS YOU GO - coughing. NIGHT EMBERS - under veterinary treatment. STRONG BLAZE - abscess left front. CATAMAGIC - no valid starting stall certificate. Due to a severe electrical storm, the Stewards made the decision to delay Race 7. After an hour had elapsed, the electrical storm had not cleared and it was decided to abandon Races 7 and 8. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed, as per normal procedure.
