RAINIER was slow into stride. NATIONAL APPROVAL, ARGO'S JET and BURWAAZ lost one length. RAINIER was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Apprentice Ngcobo the rider of RAINIER had a satisfactory qualifying ride. Apprentice Patel's right foot slipped out of the stirrup iron on BURWAAZ as the start was effected, which he regained after about 100 metres. Apprentice Mxothwa reported that he felt something amiss with WINTER GLORY in the latter stages. Apprentice Thackeray reported that he felt something amiss with NATIONAL APPROVAL in running. Apprentice Marwing reported that ARGO'S JET took no interest in running. RAZED IN BLACK was hanging out over the final 400 metres. ELECTROSHOCK was hanging out in the latter stages. Vet: WINTER GLORY and NATIONAL APPROVAL - nothing obvious detected. RAZED IN BLACK - not striding out behind. ARGO'S JET - not striding out. LILY GRAY - not striding out left hind.
