BLACK LACE dislodged Workrider Gwingwizha en route to the start and cantered free on the racecourse for some time until it was brought in hand and secured. CASEYS RAINE jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. TORMENTRESS had to steady shortly after the start to avoid the heels of HOTFOOT, which shifted in when insufficiently clear. Workrider Hewitson was charged with a contravention in that he, as the rider of HOTFOOT, failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to TORMENTRESS shortly after the start. Workrider Hewitson signed an Admission of Guilt and was suspended from riding in one Workrider race. In view of the performance of CASEYS RAINE, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. When questioned regarding the riding instructions given to Workrider Monatisa, Mr Botes told the Stipendiary Board that as the rider is inexperienced, he advised him to ensure that he had clear running in the home straight and to ask for an effort from the filly as late as possible. Mr Botes conceded that Workrider Monatisa may have left his run too late. The Board noted his explanation and after considering on the Veterinary Surgeons report, decided to take no further action. RED RAPELLE was hanging in, in the closing stages. DREAM LOGIC cast its left hind shoe in running. HOTFOOT was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. BLAZING SADDLE raced with a tongue tie. Vet: CASEYS RAINE - not striding out right front. Scratched: BLACK LACE - bolted the course and was withdrawn by the Veterinary Surgeon.
