SPLENDID GARDEN was restless in stalls, reared as the gates opened and lost three lengths. The Starting Stall Certificate for this colt has been withdrawn until recertified tractable. SPLENDID GARDEN reared in the stalls and reared again as the start was effected. The Stewards reviewed the start regarding SPLENDID GARDEN in stall gate 4 and was satisfied that the colt's feet were on the ground as the gates opened and he then reared and lost ground to the field. The Stewards ruled that SPLENDID GARDEN's tardy start was due to its intractable behaviour in the stalls and ruled the colt to be a runner. Jockey David reported that SUGAR AND SHAKE made an abnormal respiratory noise in running and he did not persevere with his riding from the 200m. PINOT NOIR was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: SUGAR AND SHAKE - no respiratory noise detected post race. Scratched: BRAD'S SURGE - abnormal temperature.
