The start of this race was rescheduled due to the request of the Operator. KING'S LINE was slow leaving the stalls. Jockey van der Merwe was charged with a contravention, read with Guideline G on the use of the crop, in that he struck the horse E-TICKET unnecessarily when it was out of contention for a place. Jockey van der Merwe signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined. In view of the performance of E-TICKET, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. An Inquiry will be opened into Jockey Pretorius's use of the crop whilst riding KING'S LINE in the straight. Jockey Zechner the rider of MIND GAMES reported that he felt something amiss with this colt and did persevere with his riding from the 200m. Jockey Appie, the rider of BREATH OF AUTUMN, reported that in his opinion, this mare did not act on the sand surface. NAD'S PRIDE was unbalanced at the 1000m when bumped by WARBASH, which ducked inwards for no apparent reason. OKLAHOMA TRIPPI was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. WELLS-CARGO raced without cheek pieces but equipped with pacifiers. Vet: E-TICKET - examined post race, no significant findings. MIND GAMES - not striding out right front. KING'S LINE - coughing. Scratched: EGYPTIAN - pulled back muscle. LIMBO - under veterinary treatment. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed, as per normal procedure.
