KATIE EM was nervous in the stall and reared, dislodged jockey at off. PIPETTE was nervous and reared. KATIE EM reared in the stalls dislodged Jockey Naidoo and the start was effected. The Stipendiary Board called a race review into the start and after reviewing the patrol film of the start, the Board was satisfied that Jockey Naidoo was not mounted as the start was effected and KATIE EM did not get a fair start was declared a non-starter. Jockey Danielson reported that HIATUS was not striding out freely in the running. PIPETTE shifted inwards over the final 200 metres made contact with VARUNA passing the 150 metre mark and continued to carry VARUNA inwards to the finish. A Stipendiary Steward called for a race review into this incident and Jockey van der Merwe, the rider of VARUNA, dead heated for 1st place, lodged an Objection against, PIPETTE, dead heated 1st place, on the grounds of bumping and interference in the closing stages. The Objection Board reviewed the patrol films of this incident heard evidence from the Jockeys and Trainers concerned and decided to uphold the Objection and revised the placings accordingly. VARUNA was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. PIPETTE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. PRINCESS ALBERTA raced with steel shoes in front unshod behind. Vet: ABYSSINIA and HIATUS - abnormal respiratory noise. Scratched: DIAMOND CUT - colic. BUFFALO DANCE (BRZ) - short left fore. KATIE EM - declared a non-starter.
