The start of this Race was delayed due to THE BIG EASY (AUS) pulling its left front shoe, which was attended to by the Farrier at the start. SILVER SCOOTER was reluctant to proceed to the start and had to be led to the start by a handler. Assistant Trainer Kotzen was advised that should SILVER SCOOTER behave in a similar manner in future, it may be suspended. SILVER SCOOTER was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. ANJAAL (AUS) was switched out to continue its run at the 350m. An inquiry will be opened to establish the circumstances that led to ROMAN RIDGE being steadied at the 300m. An Admission of Guilt was issued to Jockey de Melo for a contravention in that he, as the rider of ROMAN RIDGE, failed to report to the relevant veterinary surgeon and/or to the Stipendiary Board, anything which may have affected the running of this horse in this race. Jockey Delpech reported that he felt something amiss with ANJAAL (AUS) in the straight. TRIPTOTHESTARS raced wide on the bend, and Jockey Danielson reported that he felt something amiss with this gelding in running. Vet: ANJAAL (AUS) - blowing heavily post race. TRIPTOTHESTARS - coughing.
