THE CRUEL COUNT was reluctant to load, causing a delay. VERY CLEVER, BOSTON PARTICLE, ICE STYLE and THE CRUEL COUNT were fractious in the stalls. Trainers Ramsden, Prestage, Kruyer and Maeder will be advised to have these horses re-schooled before their next engagements. FORD COUNTRY and DIVINE FORTRESS jumped awkwardly, losing one length and thereafter were slow into stride. Jockey Domeyer was charged with a contravention, in that he failed to present his Medical Record Book to the Clerk of Scales at least 60 minutes before the official starting time of the first race in which he had an engagement. Jockey Domeyer signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined. FORD COUNTRY over-raced in the early stages. BLUE TRACTOR, who was hanging out in the straight, shifted out approaching the 400m carrying VERY CLEVER out for a number of strides. BOSTON PARTICLE, who was hanging out in the latter stages, shifted out on leaving the 50m inconveniencing DIVINE FORTRESS shortly before the finish. SMART D'ARGENT was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: HAMMIE'S STEAMER - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected.
