GREY AREA was restless in the stalls and slow, losing two lengths. FIRE DANCING was slow into stride. QUEEN OF ROCK was hanging in and difficult to assist in the latter stages. The saddle on GREY AREA slipped back in running placing Apprentice Storey at a disadvantage. GRACEFILLY shifted in slightly approaching the 150m carrying BOARDING CALL in and made contact with BOARDING CALL on two occasions. This resulted in BOARDING CALL becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of CARIBBEAN BAY and having to shift in to continue her run. A race review was called by the Stewards which was followed by an Objection lodged by the rider of the third placed horse, BOARDING CALL, against the second placed horse, GRACEFILLY, on the grounds of interference in the latter stages. The Objection Board, after viewing the patrol films, hearing all the evidence and taking into consideration the distance between second and third place being a short head, were of the opinion that if not for this incident, BOARDING CALL would have finished in front of GRACEFILLY and therefore upheld the Objection and amended the Judges result. CARIBBEAN BAY was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: QUEEN OF ROCK - not striding out right front and wound right hind gaskin. Scratched: FANTASY HOSTESS - lame left front. CORAL KEY - injured in the pens. REBEL MAGIC - coughing.
