LADY ARROW was slow into stride. QUALITY STREAK was squeezed out at the start. In view of the performance from IDIOSYNCRASY, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Jockey Herholdt reported that GOLDEN SPRINTER did not stride out freely in running and as a result did not persevere with his riding from the 200m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine GOLDEN SPRINTER, who reported this filly cast its left front shoe in running. QUALITY STREAK, which changed legs, shifted out sharply approaching the 400m making contact with CASH CROP, which in turn made contact with DARE TO RUN. Jockey Nhlapo, the rider of RED RAPELLE, and Jockey Pretorius, the rider of SECRET SOCKS, reported that their respective mounts did not stride out freely in running. Jockey Khumalo reported that QUALITY STREAK changed legs continually in running. An Admission of Guilt was issued to Apprentice Storey for a contravention, read with Guideline C on the use of the crop, in that he struck the horse CASH CROP more than three times on consecutive strides in the latter stages. LADY ARROW was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Human was questioned regarding the improved performance of LADY ARROW. The only explanation he could offer was that the addition of blinkers had helped this filly. Trainer Human was advised to race LADY ARROW similarly equipped in future, and that this filly's future performances will be monitored. CHADDERTON raced without a tongue tie. Vet: IDIOSYNCRASY - not striding out left hind. ONE SEXY LADY - abnormal respiratory noise. QUALITY STREAK - not striding out left front. RED RAPELLE - lame right front. SECRET SOCKS - not striding out both front; speedy cut right front.
