AL-AMADI and REBEL'S ROUTE were stubborn loading. SACRED COUNTESS was nervous in the stalls, slow away and lost 1 length. SAVIOLA was slow into stride. COULOMB and GRAND CHRISTINE were slow away, lost 1 length. EDEN ON THE BAY was slow away, lost 3 lengths. Permission was granted for REBEL'S ROUTE to be led to the start with a lead horse. EDEN ON THE BAY was unruly en route to the start. Trainer Strydom advised to re-school this filly on course prior to racing again. Jockey Khathi reported that SACRED COUNTESS was changing stride in the running. Apprentice Ramsamy, rider of EDEN ON THE BAY, and Apprentice Gumede, rider of SAVIOLA, reported that their mounts were - not striding out freely in the running. Jockey Zechner reported he felt something amiss with MOTHERLESS in the running and did not persevere with his ride over the final 200 metres. Jockey Naidoo signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined for a contravention in that he rode ICE IN SEATTLE in an unprofessional manner by dropping his crop at the 300 metre mark. ICE IN SEATTLE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Bremner was questioned regarding the improved performance of this filly compared to her last start in race on the 09/01/2015, she explained that she had equipped this filly with blinkers for the first time today and returned her to the 1200 metre sprint distance which suits her. The Board noted this explanation and advised that she should be raced in the same manner in future. Vet: SACRED COUNTESS and FLIGHTOFTHEFALCON - blood in mouth. ICE IN SEATTLE - speedy cut right hind inner fetlock. SHAKI and MOTHERLESS - not striding out left hind. EDEN ON THE BAY - checked post race, nothing obvious detected. SAVIOLA - not striding out behind.
