SAVETHELASTDANCE was slow away, lost 1 length. ADANA was slow into stride. Jockey Danielson reported that DANCE AND DESTROY (AUS) was changing stride in the running. Apprentice Fortune reported that IBERIAN EXPRESS made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. DUKE DESA over-raced in the early stages and compounded at the 400 metre mark. ADANA compounded over the final 400 metres. Jockey Africa signed an Admission of Guilt for a contravention in that he rode SAVETHELASTDANCE in an unprofessional manner by dropping his crop at the 100 metre mark. He was given a Warning. SAVETHELASTDANCE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Janse van Rensburg was questioned regarding the improved performance compared to this gelding's last start on the 13/02/2015. He explained that he had equipped this gelding with blinkers for the first time and believed he needed the extra 400 metres. The Board advised Trainer Janse van Rensburg to race SAVETHELASTDANCE with blinkers in future and over his suited distance. Vet: DANCE AND DESTROY (AUS), SEATTLE SAINT and APOC - checked post race, nothing obvious detected. IBERIAN EXPRESS - not striding out. DUKE DESA - blood in mouth. ADANA - not striding out behind. Scratched: MAMBO ITALIANO - swollen fetlock and was withdrawn by the Course Veterinary Surgeon.
