DANCINGINTHEDESERT was slow, lost 2 lengths. MO' PEPPER reared at the off and injured in the stalls. MO' PEPPER reared in the stalls whilst being held by the handler just prior to the start being effected, reared a second time and struck its head on the crossbar injuring itself and causing it to fall. A race review was called into the start and after reviewing the patrol films it was evident that MO' PEPPER did not get a fair start and the Board declared him a non-runner. Apprentice Thabana reported that BLACK BELUGA made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. Jockey Yeni reported that MONEY DOESNT COUNT was not striding out freely in the running. Apprentice Fortune's right foot came out of his stirrup iron on WINNING EDGE passing the 400 metre mark, which he managed to regain several strides later. PLACIDO was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: BLACK BELUGA - checked post race, nothing obvious detected. MONEY DOESNT COUNT - not striding out behind. MO' PEPPER - hit head in starting stalls, became unconscious, treated no response and was euthanased. Scratched: IMPERIAL VELVET - bruised foot, left fore. DANILO GALLINARI - lame left fore. MO' PEPPER - declared a non-runner.
