The start of this race was delayed due to CRESCENDO being reluctant to proceed to the start and the lead pony which was already at the start had to go back to fetch CRESCENDO and escort the gelding to the start. Trainer Tarry was advised that should CRESCENDO behave in a similar manner in future, it may be suspended. HEAVY METAL and ZORTZIKO were stubborn loading. OCTOBER ELEVENTH was stubborn loading and jumped outwards. Jockey Sturgeon was charged with a contravention in that he rode the horse APPROVAL RATING in an unprofessional manner by dropping his crop at the 50m. Jockey Sturgeon signed an Admission of Guilt and the penalty of a warning was imposed. DELIVER THE POWER shifted out abruptly approaching the 200m and had to be straightened on the outside of OCTOBER ELEVENTH, which rolled out marginally. Jockey Delpech reported that CRESCENDO did not stride out freely in running. In view of the performance of OCTOBER ELEVENTH, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Jockey Veale, the rider of SHEIK'S BRASHEE, appeared before the Board, was shown the patrol film of the race and was reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts to the end of the race. AURUM POT was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: CRESCENDO - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. OCTOBER ELEVENTH - examined post race, no significant findings.
