The start of this race was delayed due to the withdrawal of COWBOY at the start by the Course Veterinary Surgeon and time was given to the betting public. Jockey Ndlovu, rider of IBERIAN EXPRESS, and Jockey Schlechter, rider of ROYAL JUBILEE, reported that their mounts were not striding out freely in the running. Jockey Gould reported he felt something amiss with SEEK THE STORM in the running and did not persevere with his ride over the final 600 metres. OTHER BRUDDA was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: IBERIAN EXPRESS - abnormal respiratory noise, short in front. SEEK THE STORM - short behind.
