ALPINE RIDGE was slow into stride. LADY AMI lost one length. ALPINE RIDGE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. LEOPARD LILY and RECONSIDER BABY brushed entering the final straight. LIKENESS was hanging in, in the straight. CAPE VESTA baulked momentarily at approximately the 300 metre mark. In view of the performances of LEOPARD LILY and BUZZ, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these horses. Apprentice Mxothwa reported that he felt something amiss with SHIVRANI in running. LADY AMI raced fitted with pacifiers. Vet: BUZZ - coughing. SHIVRANI and LEOPARD LILY - nothing obvious detected. Scratched: SPRING FLIGHT - virus. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at tonight's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at tonight's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed, as per normal procedure.
