The start of this race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race. Fair start for all runners. EDEN GARDENS GLITZ (D Dillon) was hanging in from the 200m. STARLIGHTTEMPTRESS (A Mgudlwa) was disappointed for a clear run between the 400m and 300m. Thereafter, this filly switched in to continue its run. JUST ONE MORE (*K Sakayi) was baulked for a clear run between the 400m and 300m. TUPELO HONEY (S Moodley) switched out to continue its run at the 300m. Jockey S Moodley signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he struck the horse TUPELO HONEY more than 12 times in the entire race. In deciding what action to take against Jockey S Moodley, the Board considered the number of times (14) Jockey Moodley struck the horse TUPELO HONEY, the distance over which and manner in which Jockey Moodley used his crop and his record (2) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R1000 was imposed. EDEN GARDENS GLITZ (D Dillon) the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D Campbell was advised. Apprentice K Sakayi (1.5kgs) replaced Jockey T Godden on JUST ONE MORE. ARCTIC PRINCESS : Over-reach right fore. SCRATCHINGS : SLIEVANORRA : Reserve runner. ISLA MORADA : Reserve runner.
