The start of this Race was delayed due to the riders of BLUE'S ROMANCE and HIT THE BIG TIME having to be re-weighed. SILENT TREATMENT, HIT THE BIG TIME and PONAL lost 1 length. Jockey van Rensburg signed an Admission of Guilt for a contravention in that he rode the horse SILENT TREATMENT in an unprofessional manner by dropping his crop at the 350m. A Warning was imposed. STUNNING ANGEL was difficult to settle in the early stages. BRAT was hanging out in the straight. Jockey Lerena reported that RASCALITY made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. An inquiry will be opened into Jockey Lerena's riding of RASCALITY in the concluding stages. Jockey Maujean reported that he felt something amiss with WATCH THE WEST in running. Inquiries will be opened into an incident involving Apprentice van Staden in the vicinity of the Stipendiary Stewards boardroom and an incident after Apprentice van Staden had weighed out. Apprentice van Staden signed an Admission of Guilt for a contravention in that he made use of a cellular telephone inside the jockeys' quarters. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of fourteen (14) days. GRAND EPOQUE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. WATCH THE WEST raced equipped with a tongue tie. Vet: RASCALITY - no respiratory noise detected post race. WATCH THE WEST - not striding out right front. Scratched: KAROO MOON - retired. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked and their identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
