The start of this race was delayed due to DELICIOUS DAMOWIN (AUS) proving difficult to proceed to the start. Assistant Trainer Woodruff was advised that should this gelding behave in a similar manner in future, it may be suspended. FORT NAVIDAD and WARGAMES lost one length. GRAND OPERA was difficult to settle in the early stages and in the concluding stages; Jockey Sturgeon briefly dropped his left side rein. TOP SHOT had to be switched out approaching the 100m to avoid the heels of GRAND OPERA, which shifted out away from the crop for a number of strides. Jockey Sturgeon was charged with a contravention in that he, as the rider of GRAND OPERA, failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to TOP SHOT when he shifted out approaching the 100m. Jockey Sturgeon signed an Admission of Guilt and was suspended from riding in races for a period of seven days. Jockey Strydom, the rider of DELICIOUS DAMOWIN (AUS), and Jockey Mansour, the rider of WARGAMES, reported that they felt something amiss with their mounts in running. Jockey Lerena reported that CAUGHTINTHEDEEP made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. FORT NAVIDAD cast its left front shoe in running. PACIFIC G was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. PACIFIC G was switched out for a clear run at the 250m. CAUGHTINTHEDEEP raced with a tongue tie. Vet: DELICIOUS DAMOWIN (AUS) and WARGAMES - examined post race, no significant findings. CAUGHTINTHEDEEP - abnormal respiratory noise. Scratched: CAPUCHE - insufficient recovery time.
