AVENUE was stubborn loading. LUCKY GAMBLER and EVA TIBBS were slow into stride. RUN THE ARROW was carried out by THE CENTENARY (NZ) leaving the 200m, which was hanging out and shifted outwards. Thereafter in the concluding stages THE CENTENARY (NZ) shifted out away from the crop and EVA TIBBS shifted out marginally away from this filly. A Stipendiary Steward called a race review regarding these two incidents and after reviewing the patrol films from various angles, decided to take no further action. In assessing the interference to RUN THE ARROW, the Board considered Mr Herholdt's evidence that this filly shifted out away from the starting stalls that were positioned on the inside of the track and decided to give him the benefit of the doubt and took no further action. AVENUE was difficult to settle in the early stages. An Inquiry will be opened into the use of the crop by Jockey Dean in the home straight. THE CENTENARY (NZ) and EVA TIBBS were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: AVENUE - in season.
