This Race was run in light rain. BREATHLESS was restless in the stalls and slow, losing 1 length. In view of the performance from STYLE FLASH, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Jockey Brown reported that A PROPOS coughed in running. RIDE OF HONOUR and S'WAY were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. When questioned regarding his riding of S'WAY, Jockey Naude told the Stewards that this filly has a short run-in and resents the use of the crop, so he rode her confidently with the hands, which enabled her to be balanced and she closed the race off strongly riding her in this fashion. This explanation was noted, however, the Board has adjourned to review the patrol films of this filly's previous races. Trainer Tolmay confirmed this explanation. Vet: BODEGA - coughing. DANIELLE - abnormal respiratory noise. STYLE FLASH - examined post race, no significant findings. A PROPOS - coughing; speedy cut right front.
