ANGEL GABRIEL was stubborn loading. HANG FIRE (ARG) lost 2 lengths. TULBAGH TRIP, ROUGH JUSTICE, ANGEL GABRIEL and WILD THING raced tightly for a number of strides shortly after the start. The Stewards reviewed all angles of this incident and established that COSMIC TOM was sufficiently clear and took no further action. ANGEL GABRIEL ducked inwards, covering several strides approaching the 350m. Thereafter leaving the 150m ROUGH JUSTICE was unbalanced when it clipped the heels of ANGEL GABRIEL, which shifted inwards. Jockey Herholdt signed an Admission of Guilt for a contravention in that he, as the rider of ANGEL GABRIEL, failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to ROUGH JUSTICE when he shifted inwards leaving the 150m. He was suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. WEEKEND SPECIAL was hanging in from the 600m. COSMIC TOM was hanging in from the 450m. ROCKINGANDROLLING was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. TULBAGH TRIP raced without a tongue tie. TULBAGH TRIP raced in the Colours of Mr & Mrs S W Kenny: Purple, White Crossed Sashes, Purple Sleeves, White Cap, Purple Spots. Vet: TULBAGH TRIP - coughing; Trainer reported wound right front cannon. COSMIC TOM - abnormal respiratory noise. Scratched: EXCALIVAR - respiratory disease.
