SLINKY JACK was reluctant to proceed all the way to the start and had to be led by a handler. Trainer Laird was advised that should SLINKY JACK behave in a similar manner in future, it may be suspended. SLINKY JACK then broke through the front of the stalls and dislodged Jockey van Niekerk. The gelding returned to the start on its own accord, was brought in hand and subsequently withdrawn by the Veterinary Surgeon. This resulted in a delay to the start of this race. The starting stalls certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn until recertified tractable. In view of the performance from BAAHIR (AUS), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. Jockey Chambers reported that KINGOFTHEWORLD choked up in running. MOGOK MASTER was hanging in throughout. NIGHT MARCH was hanging in from the 500m. Jockey Marcus reported that he felt something amiss with FROSTED HONEY in running. Jockey Fayd'Herbe, the rider of BUCKINGHAMPSHIRE (AUS), appeared before the Board, was shown the patrol film of the concluding stages of the race and reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts out to the end of the race. REDCARPET CAPTAIN and ARABIAN BEAT were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: BAAHIR (AUS) - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. KINGOFTHEWORLD - abnormal respiratory noise. FROSTED HONEY - not striding out right front. Scratched: SLINKY JACK - injured in stalls.
