LOST ISLAND lost 1 length. In view of the performance from LUCKY LUCIANO and OUR JET, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these horses. Jockey Simons reported that KARRAAR (AUS) changed stride continually in running. In the concluding stages KARRAAR (AUS) was awkwardly placed between the heels of MOVE LIKE JAGGER, which shifted out marginally, and OUR JET, which shifted in slightly. ANZAC was difficult to settle in the early stages. Jockey van Niekerk reported that he felt something amiss with ANZAC in running. CUMBERLAND was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. DEMOSTHENES raced without a tongue tie. Vet: KARRAAR (AUS) and OUR JET - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. ANZAC - examined post race, no significant findings. LUCKY LUCIANO - blowing heavily post race. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked and their identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed.
