ROY'S ROLL'S ROYCE (AUS) was slow into stride. PAULUS flyjumped, was slow into stride and thereafter squeezed out. SILVAN JAZZ was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Spies was questioned regarding the improved performance of SILVAN JAZZ compared to this filly's previous run on the 17.3.2015 over 1200 metres. Mr Spies stated that this filly had compounded over the final 300 metres of that race, was therefore examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and no abnormalities were detected. He could offer no explanation for the improved performance today. His explanation was noted and the future performances of SILVAN JAZZ will be monitored by the Stewards. CHOSEN DASH was hanging in throughout. Jockey Naude, the rider of NOMVULA, reported his saddle slipped back in running. Scratched: BEAT THE RETREAT - shin sore.
