EVIL WOMAN was slow, losing two lengths and thereafter was slow into stride. Jockey Cheyne reported that he felt something amiss with MAGMA in running. SUPREME STAR, which was held up for a clear run, was switched out sharply approaching the 300m, crossing FASCINATE and made contact with the hindquarters of SPEEDY CHESTNUT, which became unbalanced. Jockey van Niekerk was charged with a contravention, in that he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to other runners at the 300m. Jockey van Niekerk signed an Admission of Guilt and was suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. EVIL WOMAN, when attempting a tight run, was bumped in the latter stages by PISTACCHIO, which was hanging out rolled out and made contact with EVIL WOMAN, which resulted in both horses becoming momentarily unbalanced. BEULAH was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: MAGMA - inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed, as per normal procedure.
