GENTLEMAN ONLY was slow into stride. BLAZING BRAVE became unbalanced approaching the 700m, when he was bumped by ISLAND EXPRESS, which was carried in by PRONGHORN, which shifted in sharply. Thereafter at the 450m ISLAND EXPRESS had to steady off the heels of PRONGHORN, which shifted in. Apprentice Habib was charged with a contravention in that he, as the rider of PRONGHORN, failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to BLAZING BRAVE and ISLAND EXPRESS when he shifted in at the 700m. Apprentice Habib signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of seven days. Apprentice Habib, the rider of PRONGHORN, rode a non-qualifying ride. VICTOR'S FOLLY was awkwardly placed at the 250m between COMMENTATOR and GENTLEMAN ONLY. In view of the performance of GENTLEMAN ONLY, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Jockey Mansour was charged with a contravention in that he rode the horse ISLAND EXPRESS in an unprofessional manner by dropping his crop at the 150m. Jockey Mansour signed an Admission of Guilt and a penalty of a Warning was imposed. Jockey Strydom reported that he felt something amiss with BLAZING BRAVE in running. RAFA was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. BLAZING BRAVE raced with Club Colours with the Stewards permission. ISLAND EXPRESS raced with a tongue tie. Vet: BLAZING BRAVE - not striding out left front. COMMENTATOR - abnormal respiratory noise. GENTLEMAN ONLY - not striding out both front. Scratched: ASHANTEE - coughing. TIGER ON THE PROWL - retired.
