Stable Employee Venter, acting for Trainer Spies, was questioned regarding the improved running of AMAS AMAT. Stable Employee Venter's only explanation was that this horse could have relished the heavy going. This explanation has been noted. Jockey Frank, the rider of GAELIC GIRL, reported his saddle slipped back after leaving the stalls. SAY SO TIGER was hanging in, in the final 300 metres of the race. Apprentice Murray reported that QUEEN TARA was making an abnormal respiratory noise. Jockey Chambers, the rider of A P IKHAJA, reported this filly battled in the heavy going and did not act. AMAS AMAT was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. A P IKHAJA raced in steels. Vet: QUEEN TARA - breathing heavily post race (respiratory distress). HIT THE BREEZE - Bilateral epistaxis post race and was suspended for 90 Days. Scratched: WHITE WHISPER - lame left hind quarters and was withdrawn by the Course Veterinary Surgeon at the start. ROCK THE SYSTEM (AUS) - lame left fore leg at start and was withdrawn by the Course Veterinary Surgeon at the start. The course farrier on duty did not report there to be anything amiss with the shoes fitted to the horses that raced at today's race meeting. The passports of all the runners that raced at today's race meeting were checked, identities, AHS and Equine Influenza vaccinations confirmed, as per normal procedure. After a course inspection was made by officials, the rest of the race meeting was abandoned due to the unsafe going.
