KISS ME HARDY was eased out of the race at the 400m after bumping the inside running rail on several occasions after hanging in very badly and proving difficult to assist. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Assistant Trainer Spies was advised that should KISS ME HARDY show similar tendencies in future, it may be suspended. DENNIS THE MENACE was awkwardly placed between OCTOBER ELEVENTH and DEO JUVENTE at the 200m. In view of the performance of TRIP TO RIO, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. Assistant Trainer de Kock was requested to report back on the condition of this colt on return to stables. VICTORY CRUISE was hanging in throughout. In view of the performance of this gelding, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. ZANZIBAR MAN was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Erasmus was questioned regarding the improved performance of ZANZIBAR MAN. He explained to the Board that this gelding had not been suited to the sand surface in its last run. Trainer Erasmus has undertaken where possible to race ZANZIBAR MAN on the grass in future. Vet: KISS ME HARDY - wound right flank from rail. Nothing obvious detected. VICTORY CRUISE - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. TRIP TO RIO - examined post race, no significant findings.
