ENTISAAR (AUS) was slow into stride. NOMVULA was slow into stride. The Stipendiary Board reviewed the start with regards to MELLA MARIA (AUS) in stall gate 4 and established that the left side gate bounced back making slight contact with the filly as she jumped. The Board were of the opinion that she had not been significantly impeded and declared this filly to be a runner. Jockey Fayd'Herbe was charged with a contravention, read with Guideline 1 on overweight, in that he accepted to ride the horse KHALEESI when he was unable to draw the correct carded weight. Jockey Fayd'Herbe signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined. FROSTED HONEY was hanging in throughout. KHALEESI switched in to continue her run at the 300m. In view of the performance of SPEEDY SUZY, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. MELLA MARIA (AUS) was hanging in, in the closing stages. Jockey Marcus reported that VARUMBA made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. ENTISAAR (AUS) was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: FINDING ALICE - abnormal respiratory noise and speedy cut left hind. SPEEDY SUZY - examined post race, no significant findings. VARUMBA - no respiratory noise detected post race.
