AMBER ORCHID (AUS) lost one length. Jockey Lerena, the rider if dropped his crop at the 250m and was hanging in, in the concluding stages. Jockey Lerena was charged with a contravention in that he rode the horse TOUCH THE SKY in an unprofessional manner by dropping his crop at the 250m. Jockey Lerena signed an Admission of Guilt and a penalty of a warning was imposed. Jockey Delpech was charged with a contravention in that he failed to ride the horse SANTA CAROLINA out to the end of the race, thereby prejudicing his chances of obtaining fifth place. Jockey Delpech signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine was imposed. In view of the performance of ERIN, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. ENCHANTED SILK was awkwardly placed between AMBER ORCHID (AUS) and TOUCH THE SKY in the concluding stages. Jockey Randolph reported that CLASSIC ILLUSION took no interest in running. TAMAANEE (AUS) and VINO VERITAS were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: ERIN - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. CLASSIC ILLUSION - examined post race, no significant findings. TOUCH THE SKY - blowing heavily post race.
