LOUIS THE KING was slow into stride. LOUIS THE KING was hanging in, in the closing stages. Jockey Khumalo reported that HEAVY METAL did not stride out freely in running. Jockey Khumalo appeared before the Board and was reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts out to the end of the race. WYLIE HALL (AUS) was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Jockey Fayd'Herbe was charged with a contravention, read with Guideline C on the use of the crop, in that he struck the horse WYLIE HALL (AUS) more than three times on consecutive strides in the concluding stages. Jockey Fayd'Herbe signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine was imposed. WYLIE HALL (AUS), MAJMU (AUS) and NO WORRIES were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. MAJMU (AUS) spread its left hind shoe in running. Vet: HEAVY METAL - not striding out right front. MAJMU (AUS) - cut into left hind.
