CHINAWHITE, which was restless in the stalls, jumped awkwardly and was slow into stride. MAKE THE MAGNET was slow into stride. Jockey Orffer reported that he felt something amiss with FLAIR FACTOR and did not persevere with his riding in the latter stages. Apprentice van der Hoven, the rider of WORDS OF WISDOM, lost his left side stirrup iron when bumped at the start, which he only regained approaching the bend. NATATELA, which over-raced in the early stages and was difficult to settle commenced to hang out badly approaching the 350m, proved difficult to straighten, shifted outwards and carried SO SUSPECT outwards between the 250m and 100m. Jockey Fortune, the rider of NATATELA, appeared before the Board and whilst the Stewards accepted that the filly was proving difficult to straighten he was reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts to the finish. NATATELA and HOPE DOWNS were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: FLAIR FACTOR - returned lame on the right hind.
