The starting time of this race was rescheduled due to the late starting time of race 7 at Greyville Racecourse, due to the late withdrawal of the Tote favourite. DEVORAH was stubborn loading and lost 2 lengths. The starting stalls certificate for this mare has been withdrawn until recertified tractable on two (2) consecutive occasions on a race day with a companion. LADY OF THE LORDS lost 3 lengths. PERFECT WINTER failed to negotiate the bend, which led to IMPERIAL EMPRESS being carried out at the 1400m. STRICTLY MINE at the 1400m became unbalanced when it brushed the inside running rail. Workrider Hewitson reported that he felt something amiss with STRICTLY MINE in running. CATCH A THIEF was switched out at the 400m to continue its run off the heels of MULBERRY BAY, which was hanging in and shifted inwards. Workrider Moagi, the rider of MULBERRY BAY, appeared before the Board, was shown the patrol film of the race and advised to take the appropriate measures when shifting ground in future. BERMUDA BOWL was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S Moffatt was questioned regarding the improved performance of BERMUDA BOWL. He explained to the Board that the removal of the blinkers accounted for the improvement. Trainer Moffatt was advised to race this mare similarly equipped in future. Vet: STRICTLY MINE - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. SOUKOUS - speedy cut right hind. DEVORAH - mouth injury.
