Workrider Matwa was granted permission to ride NUGGETS without his crop as, in Trainer Binda's opinion, this gelding resents the crop. Workrider Ncume, the rider of BESAME MUCHO, appeared before the Board, was shown the patrol film of the race and advised to ride his mounts with sufficient vigour and purpose so as to leave the Stewards with no room for query. In view of the performance from FORT NAVIDAD, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Workrider Duma reported that he felt something amiss with CELTIC KING in running. Trainer Tolmay was requested to report back on the condition of this gelding on return to the stables. CHERRY BREEZE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Workrider C Moshe signed an Admission of Guilt for a contravention in that, whilst riding the horse CHERRY BREEZE, he saluted in a celebratory gesture prior to the finish line. He was suspended from riding one (1) workriders' race. Trainer Kenny was questioned regarding the improved performance of CHERRY BREEZE. He explained to the Board that this gelding was better suited to the shorter distance of today's race and gave the Board the assurance that he will keep CHERRY BREEZE to shorter distances going forward. Trainer Kenny's explanation was noted and his attention was drawn to the Rules pertaining to Inconsistent Form and advised that this gelding's future performances will be monitored. TACITUS raced equipped with a tongue tie. Workrider Ndlovu signed an Admission of Guilt for a contravention, read with Guideline 1 on overweight, in that he accepted to ride the horse TACITUS when he was unable to draw the correct carded weight. He was suspended from riding in one (1) workriders' race. MOON LAY HIDDEN raced equipped with alumite shoes. STIRLING LEAVES raced equipped with steel shoes. EUSEBIUS raced equipped with cheek pieces. Vet: FORT NAVIDAD and CELTIC KING - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. Scratched: ONE YESTERDAY - insufficient recovery time.
