The start of this Race was delayed due to the delay from the previous Race. KINGS GOLD and NATIONAL KING were slow into stride. FIRE THE ROCKET and GOLDEN MIRABILIS were selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. NATIONAL KING became cramped and was eased approaching the 800 metre mark. Thereafter AQABA was eased losing position. ALL TRUE MAN over-raced, was hanging out and was difficult to assist on the bend from the 800 metre mark. In view of this the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. GOLDEN MIRABILIS was switched out to obtain a clear run approaching the 400 metre mark carrying NATIONAL KING and KINGS GOLD outwards for a number of strides. Apprentice Ngwane signed an Admission of Guilt for a contravention in that as the rider of GOLDEN MIRABILIS, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to the horses NATIONAL KING and KINGS GOLD entering the straight. He was suspended for a period of 7 days. Vet: ALL TRUE MAN - not striding out left fore. NATIONAL KING - coughing. FIRE THE ROCKET - cut into left hind.
