LEGEND (B Vengesa) refused to raise a gallop after leaving the starting stalls. Shortly after the start was effected LEGEND (B Vengesa) refused to raise a gallop and did not finish the race. Assistant trainer D Swanson was advised that if this gelding behaves in a similar manner in the future, action may be taken against it. At approximately the 100m THREE TO TANGO (N Takawira) had to switch out so as to avoid running onto the heels of BUGATTI BLUE (R Satombo) which was tiring. Apprentice R Satombo, the rider of BUGATTI BLUE, signed an Admission of Guilt for contravening Rule 55.4 read in conjunction with the guidelines on overweight, in that he failed to make the carded weight confirmed in his riding engagement to ride BUGATTI BLUE for Trainer K Swanson. Fined $200 PEGGSON, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B Stidolph advised. Jockey N Takawira, the rider of THREE TO TANGO, weighed out 0.5kg over his carded weight (56.5kg) Apprentice R Satombo, the rider of BUGATTI BLUE, weighed out 1.0kg over his carded weight as declared (54.0kg)
