CANADIAN DOLLAR jumped awkwardly outwards and carried CONSONANCE outwards, which resulted in CONSONANCE making contact with SHOUT. KING CALLI jumped awkwardly inwards and bumped SHOUT. Jockey Fourie reported that SHOUT did not stride out freely in running. Jockey Fayd'Herbe, the rider of CANADIAN DOLLAR, reported that he struck the starting stall gate with his right foot. Jockey Domeyer reported that MAGICAL MOUNTAIN did not stride out freely in the latter stages. In view of the performance from KING CALLI, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the gelding and submit a report. CANADIAN DOLLAR stumbled shortly after the start, after clipping the heels of MAGICAL MOUNTAIN, which had shifted out slightly to avoid the heels of ARCHIE. The Stewards, after reviewing the patrol films, were of the opinion that no blame could be attached to any one rider for this incident and took no further action. MAGICAL MOUNTAIN over-raced in the middle stages and had to switch out to continue its run approaching the 300m. OUR ICON was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: CANADIAN DOLLAR and KING CALLI - was inspected post race and no obvious abnormalities were detected. ROCKET MASTER - returned making an abnormal respiratory noise. MAGICAL MOUNTAIN - returned cut into on the right hind. SHOUT - returned not striding out behind, and having cast the left fore shoe in running.
